ABOUT US
The Butler Center for the Performing Arts, is considered to be a leader on the cutting edge of arts education, meeting the critical, educational and physical demands required of the performing arts student today. The BCPA student has the ability to excel in a post high school environment and sustain a performance career.
BCPA recognizes that not all students will pursue a career in the arts but maintains that the expected level of discipline and the creative thought processes amplify academic achievement.

William Bennett, Former US Secretary of Education
“The arts are an essential element of education, just like reading, writing, and arithmetic…music, dance, painting, and theater are all keys that unlock profound human understanding and accomplishment.”

Clifford V. Smith, President of the General Electric Foundation
"GE hires a lot of engineers. We want young people who can do more than add up a string of numbers and write a coherent sentence. They must be able to solve problems, communicate ideas and be sensitive to the world around them. Participation in the arts is one of the best ways to develop these abilities.”
